The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for ensuring local and state fire codes are adhered to by businesses who operate within the City of Virginia Beach. This is done through annual inspections to ensure compliance and the safety and welfare of all residents.
Virginia Beach Fire Marshals are tasked with ensuring that all businesses operating in the City of Virginia Beach are in compliance with the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code and Code of the City of Virginia Beach, Section 12 – Fire Prevention and Protection.
